Welcome to your IMOVIE tutorial lesson!    
  Goal: Experience IMOVIE Creating PROCESS!
Outcome: 1-2 minute IMOVIE.
Here are your  guides to work collaboratively and to experience your first IMOVIE project!

*Set up: Decide your team roles : facilitator, recorder, reporter, time - keeper
* Decide what tasks you will contribute to creating the iMovie (A,B,C,D,E below)
*Get to Work!

Remember, we are focused on this PROCESS more than the end result...so, let go of perfection, just get used to the IMOVIE program.  Next time you can be more creative and strive for higher quality!  


1. Work within your teacher-designated team

Facilitator will guide all to stay on task
Recorder will fill out the provided proposal form
Reporter will share with the teacher/class  some decision the team had to make to create their movie.
Time-keeper will guide the team on the following schedule ( modify for your class schedule)

Day 1:   Try this timeline....if it is too fast, just use it as a guide and do the best you can!                         2 minutes: decide team roles.                
5 minutes: fill out proposal.                   
10 minutes: work on tasks.                  
3 minutes: reflect, critique.                    
5 minutes: reporting out break.             
5 minutes: team assessment form

Day 2:   Try this timeline....if it is too fast, just use it as a guide and do the best you can!    
5 minutes: review iMovie thus far / critique for improvements
15 minutes: work on tasks. 
5 minutes: final critique/ editing adjustments
5 minutes: discuss the highlights that you wish to report out
10 minutes: reporting out break with presentation assessment

Here are each of your mandates. ( a mandate is an expectation, an order, a directive from your teacher/ supervisor)
Mandates: movie is to be between 1 - 2 minutes.
A. Collect/create images
Mandate: minimum 3 images, maximum 5. (Document citation of any source used)
B. Create script ( text for movie)
Mandate: Add text per image that expresses your team's goal. (remember to cite any resources used)
C. Choose background music/ any audio
Mandate: background music, one voice over
D. Documentations:
Mandates:  title, copyright disclaimer, citations for music, images, quotes, credits (special thanks, created by, team member names )
E. Editor: puts all elements into iMovie,
Mandates:  saves project, uploads to computer.

  1. I really like this format for the lesson - it is quick, but gets everyone right into the process of learning by doing!
