Teaming kick-off for grade 3!

Hello Students!
I am happy that Mrs. Cranker and Mrs. Heath invited me to introduce the "TEAMING PROCESS"* to you!  YOU will be happy to know that all 3-8th grade students and teachers will be using the same process whenever they use teaming in their rooms.

If you wish to learn this process on your own, or practice what you were introduced to in class,
Watch these movies and perhaps try answering the questions or even practice this teaming process with your family and friends!

Introduction to Teaming~  1 minute    http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=wP9ZmVjoXyY

What types of volunteer organizations, jobs or professions need teams?

Why might it be a good idea to work in teams?

If you belong to a team, is it good to have your own ideas?

 Part 1~ Teaming Basics, 6 minutes.  http://youtu.be/j6EWgByL30M

What is the central and most important element necessary for successful teaming?

Can you name the 4 teaming roles?

Can you define each of the roles?

Team Practice
Exercise: Your team is to plan luncheon for the senior citizens of your community.
Please discuss the following topics and record your team answers.
1: discuss a theme that might be nice for your guests
2: what are some things you need to plan to make this happen?
3: what could you do for your part? ( what could you arrange, bring, organize)

Sometimes problems or issues might happen when we collaborate with our peers as a team to do our school work.  Until we understand the importance of Groundrules and practice responsibility for our part things can seem like they are not equal.  Watch this tutorial and see how professionally speaking up and setting Groundrules can make things fair!

After you practice the roles you can advanced to the 5 steps of teaming.

Remember, when we honor ourselves, offer our strengths and respect our team members, we can work smarter...not harder!
